MJ Collision Center has partnered with our paint manufacturing company, PPG Coatings, and set an example as an early adaptor of waterborne paint in our area, long before it is required by law. This proactive approach was taken for several reasons. PPG Envirobase is a superior paint product that is much more environmentally friendly than solvent type finishes. It contains less VOC (volatile organic compounds) emissions and therefore is less harmful to the environment. The product produces a beautiful, long lasting finish. Because of this we feel confident in offering a lifetime guarantee and feel better knowing that we are doing something proactive for the future of our environment.
To do this, it required significant investments in equipment and training. We upgraded our paint booth and air supply system to provide the proper air quality and amount of air flow necessary for drying and curing. Our painters completed the hands-on and classroom instruction required for certification in the application of the new Envirobase line.

In addition, we have instituted several eco-friendly processes:
- Reconditioned bumpers
- Energy efficient lighting in the shop, and throughout the entire facility
- High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) spray equipment for efficient paint application
- Computerized paint measuring for significantly less paint waste
- Computerized estimating and shop management to reduce paper
- Thermal carafe for customer coffee that uses no electricity
- Programmable thermostats for heating systems
